Bermaz adds AWD variant (RM 12k more) to Mazda CX-30 range, keyless Smart Entry now standard

Bermaz Motor has updated the specifications and variant line-up for the 2020 Mazda CX-30. The range has now been expanded to include a new all-wheel drive (AWD) variant.
Priced at RM 176,059, it will be the most expensive CX-30 variant. Specifications and features of the AWD variant is based on the Mazda CX-30 2.0G High variant (about RM 12,000 cheaper).
The only difference between the 2.0G High 2WD and AWD variants are the inclusion of Mazda’s proprietary i-Activ AWD and an additional Off-Road Traction Assist in its traction control.
As you would have read from our earlier post, there are certain off-road situations when a driver needs to disable traction control, which is usually setup for high traction tarmac surfaces.
On some loose off-road surfaces like mud or soft ground, it is sometimes necessary to allow the tyres to spin a bit more before it can dig into harder surfaces beneath, why is why some cars come with the ‘TC Off’ buttion
With i-Activ-AWD and Off-Road Traction Assist (automatic engagement), this is not necessary as the system is intelligent enough to detect what’s the surface condition and no further intervention is needed from the driver.
i-Activ AWD combines signals from all the car's existing control systems to 'guess' the driving condition, and adapts torque distribution accordingly.
Mazda’s i-Activ AWD is a permanent all-wheel drive system. Under normal driving conditions, 98 percent of torque is transferred to the front axle. It can do a maximum 50:50 front:rear torque split.
Claimed fuel consumption is up by only 0.1 litre/100 km, to 6.5-litre/100 km under the United Nations Regulations 101 driving cycle (similar to Europe’s NEDC combined cycle).
The additional AWD hardware has added 69 kg to the car, raising kerb weight to 1,522 kg.
Apart from the, keyless Smart Entry is now standard across the range. Before this, the feature is only available in the 2.0G High and above variants.

CX-30 2.0G: RM 145,759
CX-30 2.0G High: RM 164,059
CX-30 1.8D High: RM 172,943
CX-30 2.0G High AWD: RM 176,059 (new)
As before, the Mazda CX-30 comes imported from Japan.
