Launching in Malaysia in January 2022
New colour option
Upgraded infotainment
Bermaz Motor is expected to launch a new 2022 Mazda CX-3 in Malaysia sometime around January. This new model will introduce several upgrades to its specifications but will otherwise look very similar to the outgoing model.
Details are still lacking but as before, the 2022 Mazda CX-3 will continue to be imported from Japan and assuming that our Malaysian market will mirror the features available in Japan, then the new CX-3 will most likely gain a new colour option - Platinum Quartz Metallic.
Qi wireless charging for compatible mobile device could also be offered (an optional extra in Japan).
What is quite certain however, is that that outgoing car’s 7-inch infotainment screen will be upgraded into an 8-inch screen.
Wireless Apple CarPlay is also available as an option in Japan, so this feature could also be offered here.
Mechanically, the new 2022 Mazda CX-3 will remain unchanged. Power comes from a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder SkyActiv engine, paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels.
The outgoing CX-3 is currently selling for RM 126,829.
Over 15 years of experience in automotive, from product planning, to market research, to print and digital media. Garages a 6-cylinder manual RWD but buses to work.
