The T33 generation 2023 Nissan X-Trail is one of Nissan’s better success stories in recent times, at least in Japan. The 5- and 7-seater SUV was launched in Japan in July last year and it quickly became the fastest selling X-Trail in the model’s 22-year history. A total of 12,000 orders were collected within just two weeks.
However, the on-going shortage of automotive parts, especially electronics meant that Nissan had to restrict orders to only monotone colour variants.
Yesterday, the company announced that it will be revising prices of the T33 generation 2023 Nissan X-Trail. The jump in prices is very high.

The entry 2WD 5-seater S variant now starts at 3,510,100 Yen, a 10 percent jump from before. The most expensive dual-drive motor 4WD G e-4ORCE variant is now priced at 4,499,000 Yen, up by nearly 6 percent.
Nissan says the increase in price is due to a global surge in raw materials and logistics costs.
Apart from the X-Trail, prices have also been increased for the Japanese market Nissan Kicks, Caravan (NV350), AD, and Elgrand.

The Japanese market Nissan X-Trail is now an e-Power series-hybrid-only model.
The T33 X-Trail’s KR15-DDT 1.5-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder engine features a fancy crankshaft that can vary the combustion chamber’s compression ratio. It makes 144 PS and 250 Nm but this engine doesn’t drive the wheels. It serves only as a generator to recharge the 1.8 kWh battery powering the BM46 204 PS / 330 Nm drive motor in front. Four-wheel drive e-4ORCE variants will have an additional MM48 136 PS / 195 Nm driving the rear axle.
Closer to our region, the T33 generation Nissan X-Trail is still missing from Edaran Tan Chong Motor’s line-up. Nevermind about Malaysia, the T33 X-Trail is still missing from Thailand and Indonesia. Only the imported CBU cars-only Singapore has previewed the T33 X-Trail.
