BMW Malaysia is on the search for the oldest (running) M car in the country

The actual division behind every regular BMW owner’s favourite badge to stick on their cars celebrates their golden anniversary on 24 May 2022. That’s right folks, BMW M GmbH turns 50 this year.

They deserve all the hype they can get, seeing that they’ve blessed us with some of the most iconic machines from Munich such as the legendary BMW M1 to the luxurious BMW M8 scattered with the likes of the E46 M3 CSL, the V10 wonder that we called the E60 M5 and the pocket rocket of the M2 Competition.

Each and every one of them were true pioneers of their time and within their segments, carrying the distinctive and unmistakable DNA of the M division.

To commemorate the occasion, BMW Group Malaysia is on the search for the oldest BMW M model in every model series in Malaysia. They’ve issued a nationwide call for submission from local owners. Remember though, it’s got to be an actual M model that’s still running we imagine. Your Shopee-procured M badges stuck on the boot of your 318i isn’t going to cut it, nor will the M Sport body kit you bought from Sunway or the engine transplant from a halfcut.

And if it even has that abomination of the grille with those 3 M colours, please do some good for humanity and keep the photo to yourself.

Winners will stand a chance to receive exclusive BMW M merchandise and a feature of their prized vehicle by BMW Group Malaysia. One winner will be selected for every BMW M model series while special prizes for notable submissions will be handed out as well. Submissions will close on 8 June 2022 so get cracking.
