The compulsory use of child seats in cars was introduced back on 1st January 2020, however, compliance rate is still very low due to the high cost of child seats. To encourage the use of child seats, the government has introduced a new subsidy programme.

The government has allocated an amount of RM 30 million for the new subsidy programme to 188,000 receivers.
