Since its launch almost a month ago, the BYD M6 has been well received by Malaysians as it was announced that almost 1,000 orders for the electric MPV have been placed.
Jeffrey Gan, Managing Director of Sime Darby Motors, Southeast Asia, revealed this ahead of the BYD Sealion 7's local launch. Malaysia is also the debut market for the Sealion 7 in the ASEAN region.

He also mentioned that over 11,000 BYD vehicles have been registered in Malaysia, two years after the Chinese battery electric vehicle (BEV) brand made its introduction here. Since then, BYD has been ranked Malaysiaβs best-selling BEV brand.
The M6 is available here in two variants, the 161 PS/310 Nm Standard and 204 PS/310 Nm Dynamic which are priced from RM 110,500 and RM 124,500 respectively. The front-wheel drive (FWD) 7-seater (2-3-2) has a maximum range of 530 km and supports vehicle-to-load (V2L).
The electric minivan comes standard with a boot volume of up to 580 litres, rear air vents, a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, and a wireless charger.
As for BYDβs newest kid on the block, the Sealion 7 is offered in two variants β the 313 PS/380 Nm Premium RWD and the 530 PS/690 Nm Performance AWD.
