Carsome to the rescue. Starts food banks for #benderaputih victims

In light of these difficult times, the online used car e-commerce website, Carsome, has initiated various aids to help its employees and used car partners get back to work. The company also introduced a special auto-financing programme to help fresh graduates purchase their first car.

To ensure its employees’ safety and to allow them to return to work as soon as possible, Carsome has introduced its employee vaccination programme.

The initiative will help the remaining employees who have yet to secure appointments through the national vaccination program, get their vaccination faster

“They are the backbone of Carsome, and their health and safety are our top priority. With this in mind, we recently launched our very own employee vaccination drive to ensure the safety of both our employees and our customers,” said Eric Cheng, Carsome Co-founder and Group CEO.

To date, close to 150 Carsome Malaysia employees and Carsome Academy students have or will be vaccinated through this initiative. The company is also extending its vaccination programme across its chain of suppliers and retailers.

Helping businesses get back on their feet

To help its partners get back on their feet, Carsome introduced the Used Car Dealers Buy Back Programme. The programme will help Carsome partner-dealers by buying back the cars they bought from Carsome at the same price they paid.

To date, under the programme, Carsome has bought back cars from more than 10 dealers at a total value of close to RM1 million. Through this programme, the company hopes to help its partner-dealers maintain cash flow and liquidity to continue sustaining their businesses through this pandemic.

Giving youths a little push in the early days of their careers

Carsome also introduced a special auto-financing programme to help fresh graduates kick start their careers. The programme will make things easier for fresh graduates with no credit score history to apply for loans with conventional banks.

As long as the youths graduated in the last five years with at least a degree, all they need is an employment offer letter and a comfort guarantor with no minimum requirements, something different from the traditional guarantor required by common banks, to get a loan to purchase a Carsome Certified car.

Caring for the community where we operate in

In light of the #BenderaPutih movement, Carsome began an internal donation drive to buy essentials for 48 volunteers to deliver to those in need.

The company also collaborated with SESO, a local non-profit enterprise against food poverty. As the transportation partner, Carsome has been helping SESO to deliver food and supplies to various Klang Valley locations.

Just last weekend, the partners sent out more than 100 care packages courtesy of HappyFresh, to those in need.
