CKD in Pakistan: 2021 Proton Saga project fires up, Proton X70 to join soon

Al-Haj Automotive Pvt. Ltd. – distributor and now manufacturer of Proton cars in Pakistan – have commenced local assembly (CKD) of the 2021Proton Saga there, according to Mr. Aris Anuar, the company's Chief Manufacturing Officer.
Officiating the event was the President of Pakistan, Mr. Arif Alvi. Also in attendance were Mr. Hilal Afridi, the Chief Executive Officer of Proton Pakistan, and the Consul-General of Malaysia in Karachi, Mr. Khairul Nazran.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Proton, Dato’ Mohd Radzaif, also joined the event albeit virtually.
Deliveries of the Pakistan-assembled Saga is expected to commence in the middle of this month.
Proton's line-up in Pakistan
The Proton Saga is one of a pair of models sold by Proton Pakistan, with the other being the Proton X70. Three variants of the sedan are offered there, with prices ranging from PKR 1,925,000 (~RM 47k) to PKR 2,175,000 (~RM 53k).
Meanwhile, the X70 is expected to put on its own made-in-Pakistan tag within the next three to four months. For now, Proton Pakistan has stopped taking orders for fully-imported (CBU Malaysia) units of the Proton X70.
