About a month ago, the W213 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class facelift was launched in Malaysia, with two variants on offer – E200 Avantgarde and E300 AMG Line, priced at RM 326,943 and RM 375,432 respectively (OTR sans insurance and SST).
Now, let’s take a closer look at both the facelifted Mercedes-Benz E200 and E300.

2021 Mercedes-Benz E200 Avantgarde
Up front, the E200 gets the Avantgarde styling pack, with less aggressive-looking bumper and twin-slat grille. Headlamps are LED High Performance units while wheels are 18-inch items.
Power comes from 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that outputs 197 PS/320 Nm, mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission that spins the rear wheels.
Over to the rear, the pre-facelift’s rounded triangular taillight is now replaced with these new horizontal ones. The rear bumper is largely similar to before.
Inside, the most obvious change would be the new steering wheel with capacitive buttons. The touchpad on the centre console is updated to bring it up-to-date with the current Mercedes-Benz line-up. Also, the analog clock has been removed.
The rest of the interior though, like the dual-widescreen displays, remains unchanged from before. It runs on the MBUX infotainment system and supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
The E200’s interior is upholstered by Artico man-made leather and it gets the 2-zone Thermatic automatic climate control.
Safety wise, the E200 is equipped with Blind Spot Assist, Active Brake Assist (AEB), and Active Parking Assist with Parktronic.

2021 Mercedes-Benz E300 AMG Line
As for the E300, it wears the AMG Line exterior pack and adds Multibeam LED headlights, and larger 19-inch AMG alloy wheels.
It’s powered by the same 2.0-litre unit with the 9-speed automatic transmission but outputs are bumped up to 258 PS/370 Nm.
Like the E200, it gets the MBUX infotainment system displayed in the Widescreen Cockpit, which includes two 12.3-inch displays. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity is supported. It also has a unique AMG Line steering wheel.
Unlike the E200, the E300 adds panoramic sunroof, Burmester sound system, wireless charging pad, and 360-degree camera.
The leather seats found in the E300 is genuine and the climate control is the 3-zone Thermotronic system.
In terms of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), the E300 adds Active Distance Assist (ACC) and Active Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) over the E200.
