CMCO update: You can only travel across states from Monday to Thursday 01

Starting from today (20 April 2021), the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) will only allow interstate travel between Monday to Thursday.

The announcement came from Deputy Police Chief, Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani. He further elaborated PDRM will not be approving any permits requesting to travel on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

Permit slips will only be approved according to the reasons listed below:

  • Work-related purposes
  • Emergency
  • Death of a close family member like parents, children, or siblings
  • Medical reasons
  • Education
  • Long-distance spouses

Travelling interstate for social reasons such as attending weddings or any type of celebration banquet will not be allowed.

The new rule will be in force until Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Action will be taken against anybody who violates the new rule.
