The upcoming 2020 Mazda 3 Hatchback Turbo will have seriously impressive numbers that might make you consider twice about getting a VW Golf GTi or even the Hyundai i30 N.
According to an official video released by Mazda Mexico, the 2.5-litre turbocharged engine will be powering the Mazda 3 Hatchback Turbo, producing 230 PS and a blazing 420 Nm of torque. Those figures match what we had speculated before.
It will also be in an all-wheel-drive configuration and it will only be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Mazda isn’t calling this the MPS either, so diehard fans should probably keep their fingers cross that it would be even more amazing if that ever comes.
Now, we love the non-turbocharged Mazda 3 here at the office and we definitely are looking forward to Mazda’s latest hot hatch.
It is still too early to tell whether Bermaz is bringing this over to Malaysia. Prices haven’t been announced yet but expect it to sit at the top of the entire Mazda 3 range.
