One by one the rumours around the upcoming 2023 Toyota Innova Zenix sheds, and through Toyota Indonesia's latest teaser we can now confirm that the MPV will feature a hybrid powertrain.

But hang on to your down payments as the only tease this time is the telltale 'Hybrid' badge along the fender, and not much else of the entire car. Last time we ran a story like this, we showcased a bit of the front, so will the rear be the next?

Gaining the Toyota Hybrid System (THS) powertrain means the Innova Zenix joins the brand's increasingly electrified range in our part of the world – Toyota Indonesia itself currently sells four; the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, C-HR Hybrid, Corolla Altis Hybrid, and Camry Hybrid.

Numbers aren't divulged yet, though it's very much rumoured that the 2023 Toyota Innova Zenix Hybrid could receive 2.0-litre Dynamic Force engines, paired to a CVT automatic transmission.

Other things we know of the 2023 Toyota Innova Zenix is that it's carved out of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, it'll ditch its rear-wheel drive (RWD) layout for a front-wheel drive (FWD) one, and some specifications will get a sunroof.

What we don't know just yet is when exactly it'll be launching – we still have a couple of months before 2022 closes, so maybe Toyota's planning to end the year with a bang?
