Covid-19 refrain from inter-state travels

If you’re thinking of heading back to your hometown or any inter-state travelling during the next 2 weeks, UM’s dean of faculty of medicine is calling out urging people to reconsider and stay put where they are.

Prof Datuk Dr Adeeba Kamarulzaman, or Professor Adeeba, said in a tweet that “The whole idea of this Restricted Movement Order is to… restrict movement… to minimise human contact that can spread the virus. Social distancing is the fancy term for it”

On Monday (March 16), Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin declared that the entire country would be on movement control order starting from March 18-31 in an effort to curb the rise of Covid-19 cases.

The number of Covid-19 cases in Malaysia has been rising at an alarming rate with new cases reported daily counting in the hundreds, prompting the government to issue the movement control order.

As it is, car service centres have announced that they will be closing during that time period as well.

There isn’t a time in memory that doesn’t involve staring at cars. After discovering the excitement of watching Schumacher vs Hakkinen, Formula 1 became a major part of life. The love for cars and F1 ultimately led to a job with CAR Magazine. The untimely death of the magazine meant a hiatus from cars at lifestyle women’s magazine Marie Claire before another opportunity came knocking again.
