MG Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd. announced today that it has collected over 3,000 bookings for its fully electric MG ZS EV and MG EP at the recently concluded 2022 Bangkok International Motor Show.

The new 2022 MG ZS EV comes with a new face and an upgraded 10-inch touch screen infotainment with Android Auto / Apple CarPlay. Range is also increased from 337 km to 403 km, thanks to a larger 50.3 kWh battery (up from 45 kWh).

MG says the reason behind the high number of orders collected is due to the 2022 model’s lower price, now cheaper by THB 227,000 – 246,000 (about RM 28,600 to RM 31,000) thanks to additional subsidies for battery EVs announced by the Thai government.

The new prices were announced at the Bangkok International Motor Show, which ran from 23-March to 3-April.

MG says deliveries for the new price deducted 2022 models will begin in May but due to the global shortage in parts and high volume of orders, the company can only fulfill all bookings in the last quarter of 2022.

The MG ZS EV is now priced at THB 949,000 (~ RM 119.6k) for the base Model D and THB 1,023,000 (~ RM 128.9k) for the Model X. Previously, the models were priced at THB 1,189,000 and THB 1,269,000 (~ RM 149.8k – RM 159.9k) respectively.

For reference, the hybrid-only (at least in Thailand) 2022 Honda HR-V is priced from THB 979,000 to THB 1,179,000 (~ RM 123.4k to RM 148.6k).

The MG EP wagon is priced from between THB 761,000 to THB 771,000 (~ RM 95.9k to RM 97.2k), down from THB 988,000 to THB 998,000.
