EV concept car from little-known brand catches fire at 2022 Guangzhou Auto Show


One day before the opening day of the 2022 Guangzhou Auto Show, a concept electric vehicle (EV) caught fire, igniting itself and its booth the booth around it.
Said EV brand is a little-known Chinese company called IAT Automobile Tech. Though the company was established in 2007, IAT has not launched a single EV, as their primary business model revolves around EV research and development (R&D), product planning, and consultation.


As for the concept car that caught fire at the auto show, IAT released a statement stating that the cause of fire is unknown. The company also said that there have been no injuries occurred and they will work with the organizers of the auto show to determine the cause of the fire.


The 2022 Guangzhou Auto Show is open to visitors from today (30-December) onwards. A number of debuts will happen at the auto show, including the Toyota Crown Sedan, BMW M2, Toyota bZ3 Sedan, and Mazda CX-50.
