Sure, we trail behind Thailand and Indonesia in introducing the model but at long last, we have the all-new 2022Kia Carnival in Malaysia, which is now open for booking though prices haven't been announced at the time of publication.
Kia's distributors here – Dinamikjaya Motors Sdn. Bhd. – will be introducing the fourth-generation (codenamed KA4) MPV in its sole 11-seater guise.
It's a much larger model than its predecessor (YP), measuring 40 mm longer than before at 5,155 mm, 10 mm girthier at 1,995 mm, and sits on a wheelbase that is 30 mm longer, making 3,090 mm.
Powering the Carnival is its Smartstream 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Output is rated at 199 PS, with 440 Nm of torque.
Kia says the Carnival can return a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 6.5 litres/100 km.
Equipment list for the Malaysian-spec Carnival encapsulates 18-inch wheels all-around, bi-LED headlights, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and LED fog lights, though round the back there's only bulb-type tail lights and fog lights.

Moving inside, there's a leather steering wheel (while an analogue instrument cluster sits behind it), dual-zone front air-conditioning, and a wireless charger.

The seats are all wrapped in leatherette, with the driver getting an 8-way power adjustable seat (with 2 way lumbar adjustment), while the passenger gets the same but sans the lumbar adjustability.
Safety-wise, the Carnival gets the customary 7 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and hill assist control (HAC).
As far as active safety is concerned, the Malaysian-spec Carnival only gets Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW) and Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist (RCCA).
Six colours are offered, and the Carnival is backed by a 5-year/100,000 km warranty. Stay tuned as we bring you live photos and further announcements later this week.
