Geely Haoyue is now officially launched in China. To our surprise, the retail price is lower than the indicated price announced earlier.

There are 3 variants of the Haoyue available priced from CNY 103k to 139k (RM 62k to 84k). All 3 variants are available in either a 5- or 7-seater configuration.

Only 1 engine option is available for the Haoyue which is the 1.8-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine. It is paired to a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission pushing out 184 PS and 300 Nm of torque to drive the front wheels.

This engine is the exact same unit found in the Proton X70 CKD and Geely claims in the 1.7 tonne Haoyue, it’s able to return 7.8L/100 km.

Cool features such as 18-inch alloys, powered tailgate, 12.3-inch full LCD instrument cluster, 72-colour ambient lighting, 60-inch panoramic sunroof, captain seats for the middle row, and Advanced Driving Assistance Systems are only available in the highest grade variant.

In Malaysia, there are no plans for the Geely Haoyue to make its debut as a Proton model as the national carmaker has only secured intellectual rights for 3 Geely models which are the Boyue (Proton X70), Binyue (Proton X50) and Jiaji (Proton MPV).
