From plant to palm, Zeekr 001 buyers can track every step of their car’s progress

Once again, the Geely Holding Group is pushing the envelope when it comes to innovating. This time around, the focus in on their new plant responsible for manufacturing Zeekr vehicles.
According to Geely Holding, the Zeekr factory is equipped with a factory-wide 5G internet connection, allowing for factory cloud management functions such as making adjustments to vehicle configurations, maintaining quality control, as well as updating processes.
Having 5G connectivity also means that Zeekr can offer further improve customer experience, as those who have pre-ordered or customized their Zeekr 001 can monitor their car as it moves along the production line.
As a refresher, the Zeekr is Geely’s latest premium electric vehicle (EV) marque, aimed squarely at Tesla. Zeekr’s first model is the Zeekr 001, which was first previewed as the Lynk & Co Zero Concept. It offers two battery options (86 kWh and 100 kWh) with a claimed electric range of 700 km. The electric motor produces 543 PS and 700 Nm allowing the EV to complete the century sprint in 3.8 seconds.
After stepping down as Geely’s President and CEO, Li Shufu will now spearhead Zeekr.
