Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (ZGH) has sold over 200,000 electrified vehicles in 2020. This also means that nearly one in ten vehicles sold by the group last year were of pure electric or hybrid powertrains.

Volvo Cars saw sales of its plug-in hybrid and pure electric Recharge models grow exponentially. With the Swedish brand committed to having 50% of sales coming from electrified vehicles by 2025, it won’t be surprising if it will reach its goal ahead of schedule. Even if it means sacrificing some models.

Geely Auto, on the other hand, focused on markets where electrified vehicles are still nascent. However, its models helped to paved the way and introduce hybrid vehicles to most markets at relatively affordable prices.

Meanwhile, Lynk & Co, which has attracted some buyers in China, will be introduced into the European market through a subscription business model. Their line-up in Europe will only consist of hybrid or fully-electric models to promote greener mobility.

The next decade will showcase ZGH’s commitment to an electrified future. This includes the production version of its Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform, which is set to debut on the Lynk & Co ZERO later this year. Perhaps Proton might be a part of this movement in the future as well.
