The BMW i7 is expected to make its official launch in Malaysia soon, as the car has been spotted on the road and registration of interest has been open since mid-2022.

Just a little refresher, BMW i7 is the all-electric (EV) version of G70 BMW 7 Series. The BMW i7 integrated into the 7 Series range unlike Mercedes-Benz with a separate EQ range.

In terms of exterior, the BMW i7 is nearly identical to the G70 7 Series, save for the optional blue accents.

It has a split-headlight design as seen on the facelifted BMW X7 and a massive glowing grille as well.

Globally, the BMW i7 is currently available in the xDrive60 form, which has a dual-motor setup on each axle (AWD) that outputs 544 PS/745 Nm.

It gets a 101.7 kWh battery, capable of a WLTP range of up to 625 km. Max AC and DC charging are rated at 11 kW and 195 kW respectively.

The company said that a more powerful i7 with ‘over 600 PS and 1000 Nm’ will be announced in the future.

• xDrive60 M Sport (First Edition) - THB 7,599,000 (around RM 976k)
• xDrive60 M Sport - THB 7,849,000 (around RM 1m)
• xDrive60 M Sport Gran Lusso - THB 8,599,000 (around RM 1.1m)

Looking at prices in the UK (which is closer to our prices for EVs based on direct exchange rates), the BMW i7 starts from GBP 110,545 (around RM 583k).
