'Built, not bought' is a term not many can use but this stunning bright blue 1969 Mini Van has every right to do so.

Branded as ‘zero to hero’ by its current owner, we think this Mini even deserves its own ‘Made in Malaysia’ stamp judging by the extent of work that’s gone into it.

For starters, 60% of the parts are new (imported from Minispares UK) and the car has had some performance and visual upgrades to go along with it too. 

Powering the classic van is a 1.3-litre BMC-A engine with some welcomed modifications including a K&N injection filter kit that should bump the power up from its original 77 PS output.

Keeping the car planted on the road is a set of Spax suspension, with Yokohama A008 tyres wrapping the custom MED Miglia 10-inch wheels.

Inside, it’s pretty period-correct with just the right amounts of modern touches.

Step inside the tasteful brown leather interior and one can spot rally-inspired Paddy Hopkirk door handles, Smiths magnolia-coloured gauges and a sweet Nardi steering wheel.

It should be quite a comfy ride too, given that it’s got sound and heat insulation as well. 

Other improvements include all-new rubber seals around the car and custom-made tempered glass.

But my post here is nowhere near extensive - the owner says in the listing that there "are too many items to write”, and judging by the pictures...I’m inclined to believe him!
