Got IQ? Registration of interest for 'smarter' 2022 Volvo XC60 facelift opens in Malaysia

Roughly a week after the 2022 Volvo XC60 Recharge T8 was teased on the company's social media platforms, Volvo Car Malaysia has since opened registration of interest (ROI) for the model.
However, its price list and definite launch date are yet to be announced.
The pre-facelift model was one of our Ratings' top-scoring models, scoring 188 out of 250 points
For reference, the current pre-facelift, locally-assembled (CKD Shah Alam) XC60 range is priced from RM 278,915 for the T5 Momentum and RM 324,656 for the Recharge T8Inscription Plus (OTR without insurance, SST-exempt until 30-June 2022).
Slotting between the XC40 and XC90 Recharge in terms of size and price, the XC60 is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) in T8 Recharge guise, just like the rest of the range here which bears the 'Recharge' badge.
Globally, the facelifted XC60 was revealed in March 2021. Changes for the model centres on the exterior, with the 5-seater receiving redesigned front and rear bumpers, and new wheels.
The new XC60 is all-wheel drive only (AWD) and comes with a choice of three hybrid powertrains, of which a rear-mounted electric motor is paired to a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine.
In the UK, the Volvo XC60 has been updated with a bigger battery that promises a 90km fully-electric range, and a bump in power. However, this isn't confirmed for Malaysia yet, so we expect the pre-facelift's car's T5 AWD (254 PS and 350 Nm) and the Recharge T8 AWD (407 PS and 640 Nm) specifications to be available in Malaysia.
