Soon GrabCar Premium rides will offer premium riders with cleaner air thanks to Grab Holdings Inc’s new collaboration with Panasonic Corporation. The new partnership will see the installation of Panasonic’s Nanoe X Generator in 5,500 vehicles registered under GrabCar Premium across 5 cities, including Kuala Lumpur.
The partnership is part of Panasonic’s continuous campaign to promote the importance of quality air in the South East Asian region. Installing the air purifier in Grab cars will allow users to not only feel safer but allow Panasonic to demonstrate high-quality air environments in a car.
In case you’re wondering what’s so special about the Nanoe filter, Panasonic claims it is a nanosize particulate ion that contains highly reactive hydroxyl radicals produced by applying a high voltage to water in the air.
These ions will work to deodorise and, most importantly in the current pandemic outbreak, suppress bacteria and allergens.
Apart from KL, other cities involved in the campaign include Singapore, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), and Jakarta (Indonesia). In KL, Grab estimates a total of 1,000 units of the air purifier will be installed in GrabCar Premium rides in the city.
The distribution process of the Nanoe X Generator is expected to be completed by mid-March 2021, so come the end of MCO and you want to feel safer when commuting in a Grab ride, you can opt for a GrabCar Premium instead.
