Honda has launched the sportier Honda Jazz Modulo X in Japan. Sold as the Honda Fit in Japan, this is the most expensive Jazz variant sold there, priced at JPY 2,866,600 (~RM 107,384).

Compared to the regular non-Modulo variant, this variant costs JPY 440,000 (~RM 16,478) more.

So what does the extra RM 16k nets you? Let’s take a closer look.

Starting with the exterior, Modulo said that the Jazz Modulo X inherits the "effective aerodynamics" philosophy from the "Sports Modulo Civic Type R".

As such, Modulo has placed some serious emphasis on the Jazz’s aerodynamic aspects, as its rendition of the Jazz Modulo X gets a host of aerodynamic upgrades, including a more aggressive front bumper and aero fins. The Jazz Modulo X also gets a unique front grille.

Towards the rear of the Jazz Modulo X, it gains a restyled bumper and the addition of a tailgate spoiler. A Modulo X emblem placed on the tailgate serves as a reminder that this is not your regular Honda Jazz.

The Jazz Modulo X also rides on new lightweight 16-inch alloy wheels, with unique dampers all-round.

Modulo has also fettled with the interior of the Jazz, giving the hatchback a sportier touch. The most noticeable difference is the addition of Bordeaux Red trim on the steering wheel, gear lever, and seats. This Jazz variant also gets a unique engine push start button with the Modulo X wording, carpet mats, and interior trim pieces.

If the Bordeaux Red is a bit too tacky, Modulo also offers a more subdued full-black interior on the Jazz Modulo X.

Powering the Honda Jazz Modulo X is Honda’s latest e:HEV petrol-electric hybrid system, comprising of a 109 PS / 253 Nm electric motor and a 98 PS / 127 Nm petrol engine.

What about Malaysia?

Seeing that the fourth-generation Honda Jazz has been ruled out for Malaysia, those seeking for a hatchback from Honda will have to wait for the Honda City Hatchback instead.
