![Honda Malaysia: Expect delays in new car deliveries, due to chip shortage and pandemic 01]()
If you have placed a booking for a new Honda vehicle recently, expect delays in deliveries, stemming from the global semiconductor shortage and ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Honda Malaysia has clarified the issue in a statement, and it can be read in full below:
"Due to the global shortage of semiconductors and Covid-19 pandemic, there will be a delay in parts and distribution for new car production. This has resulted to disruption and inconsistent production output at our factory.
"With this reduction of production output and high market demand for our products, customers who have already placed booking with our authorised dealers may experience delay in new car delivery depending on models or variants. In addition, the production reduction may result in customers not being able to receive their new Honda vehicle before the resumption of Sales & Service Tax (SST) for the automotive industry.
