Honda Malaysia has had a stellar first half of 2022 racking up sales of 39,000 units between January and June 2022, a 60 percent increase compared to the same period in 2021.

The Honda City range continues to be untouchable, contributing to over 60 percent of units sold overall. The City sedan model contributed 39 percent of total sales, followed by the City Hatchback with 23 percent. The Honda Civic raked in a further 18 percent making up 80 percent of all Honda Malaysia sales.

Most notably, the City sedan, City Hatchback, Civic and Accord are now the leading Non-National cars in all their respective segments and beating their counterparts from Toyota.

The Honda City sedan leads the Toyota Vios, the leads the Yaris, the Civic beats the Corolla, and the Accord is edging out the Toyota Camry.

Buoyed by the SST exemption period and the launch of the all-new 2022 Honda HR-V, Honda Malaysia has garnered 105,000 bookings since the start of the year.

Honda Malaysia MD and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Hironobu Yoshimura added, “Recently in July, we kept the momentum going with the launch of our popular Compact SUV, the All-New HR-V. Since its launch, the all-new model, featuring exceptional styling and advanced technology, has received outstanding response from the market. The positive acceptance of the Honda models helped to boost our sales performance this year”

Honda Malaysia claims the company is looking rock solid to achieve its annual sales target of 80,000 units by the end of 2022.
