The Proton X50 is fast shaping up to be red-hot - just two weeks after its introduction, over 20,000 units have been booked.

The B-segment SUV first broke cover on 15-September 2020 and bookings were open the next day. Proton has set a 4,000-unit sales target for the X50.

Proton Edar Sdn. Bhd.'s Chief Executive Officer, Roslan Abdullah says, “Proton would like to thank all its customers for the tremendous interest shown in the Proton X50.

We are pushing to ensure fulfilment over the last three months of 2020, while continuing to emphasise product quality,” added Roslan. 

While not all bookings will translate to sales, the waiting list for the X50 currently stands at over three months.

In other Proton development

September is also proving to be a good month for Proton with a cumulative 11,935 units sold - the second highest for 2020.

This is a 4.9% increase from August, and total Proton sales for the year now stand at 73,607 units.
