Photos of a Klang man planting a tombstone into a pothole in Klang has been making its rounds on social media. The abang was apparently fed up with waiting for authorities to fix the pothole and resorted to drastic measures like this to kick them into action. And it worked!
Photos of the man planting the “grave” in a very deep pothole were uploaded onto a Facebook group called Ikatan Silaturrahim Brotherhood Shah Alam. Abang even took a moment to make a prayer after he planted the stone.

The post was accompanied by a very angry message claiming that the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) have ignored complains about the particular pothole that road users have been making for months.
They also further explained that the tombstone was a symbol of the lives that were put at risk whenever they come across the pothole.
As is seen in the photos, the pothole in question is very deep. The base of the Muslim tombstone sunk almost 5-inches deep. The idea of the act was to get the authorities’ attention, and it worked!
After the images went viral, authorities arrived less than 12 hours later to fix the pothole. The Brotherhood followed up with another post of the patched-up pothole along with a video to prove that it was fixed.
Of course, the follow-up post was also accompanied by the group questioning why does it take the authorities weeks, if not months, to respond to a complaint made by road users before taking action.
The Ikatan Silaturrahim Brotherhood is a group of road safety vigilantes known for fixing potholes using their own funds. The group was started by Malaysian actor Azlan Sani Zawawi, also known as Lando, who has been repairing potholes by himself since 2007.
Lando first started the initiative after he lost several friends in road accidents caused by poor quality roads. The group’s main mission is to keep road users safe by pressuring the government to take action and provide users with better quality roads.
