![Hyundai discontinues production of Hyundai Kona EV in Korea to focus on Ioniq 5 01]()
Looks like the Hyundai Kona EV is about to come to the end of its model life as Korean Car Blog reports that Hyundai Motor has discontinued the model in South Korea. Discontinuing production of the Kona EV will allow the factory to focus the new battery supply source on the newly launched Ioniq 5.
While dealers in Korea will focus on clearing the remaining units available, production of the EV will continue at Hyundai’s plant in the Czech Republic and Chennai, India.

It seems the Kona EV is still a popular EV choice in Europe and India even though sales in its home country have begun dwindling in its home country as they switch their attention to the newer Ioniq 5.
But don’t despair, the Kona EV might make a comeback as an Ioniq SUV in the future instead. After all, Ioniq does have SUVs of various sizes in the pipelines.
