Hyundai has recently released a videos to communicate why the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is the only electric vehicle (EV) you'll ever need. Convinced?
In the US, prices of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 have yet to be announced, but it is expected to be close to a Hyundai Santa Fe.
The interior of the car is thoughtfully designed with the occupants’ comfort in mind. With extra leg room, large space for cargo and the ability to recline seats into optimum positions, it makes the car ideal for lengthy trips. The front seats are also thinner to provide extra comfort for occupants at the back. Ambient LED lighting makes for a grand music listening or relaxing experience.
Of course, being environmentally-friendly comes hand-in-hand when talking about the future. With that said, the Ioniq 5 is designed with that in mind with most of the interior made from sustainably sourced materials. We can now smell the breath of the future with this eco-friendly electric mobility.
Ioniq 5 features a Head-Up Display (HUD) with Augmented Reality (AR) mode which turns the windshield into a display screen- a feature unprecedented in a Hyundai. Drivers can utilize the AR technology to have a seamless navigation with advanced safety. The interior also features two 12” LED navigation screens which would be perfect to display Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
As safety is vital to Hyundai, the Ioniq 5 is equipped with Hyundai SmartSense, which ensures the most comprehensive safety features. These include the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) which can detect a vehicle, pedestrian or cyclist and can effectively prevent a collision with them; and Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (ISLA), which adjusts vehicle speed to match the speed limit.
Focusing on the driver’s safety, Driver Attention Warning (DAW) shows the driver’s attention level and can detect if the driver is distracted or tired. It will provide a warning and recommends a rest if needed.
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) helps avoid collisions behind the vehicle as it can apply differential braking when there are other vehicles detected at the rear side of the car.
With our ever-growing need for convenience, the Ioniq 5 provides the latest Bluelink connected car services which will create a deeper depth to your mobility experience- in car payment. With just a tap on the screen, you are able to pay for parking, coffee, food or even charging. The Bluelink feature also includes Remote Start Enhancement which allows remote seat heating and ventilation functions, and Vehicle Status Notifications which will inform customers if any of the doors are left unlocked or the windows are open.
The singe motor two-wheel drive model offers 217 PS and 350 Nm which can travel up to 483 km on a full charge. The top-of-the-line model takes it up a notch - the dual motor all-wheel drive has 305 PS and 605 Nm. All figures are based on long-range 72.6 kWh battery fitted. A smaller 58 kWh battery is also available.
With the ultra-fast charger via an 800-Volt electrical system, it can add 97 km of range in just 5 minutes.
Another feature which showcases innovation is the vehicle-to-load (V2L) function. Customers can easily charge their electrical devises as the Ioniq 5 serves as a charger on wheels. You no longer have to fret during outdoor activities as electric bicycles, scooters or camping equipment can be charged with this feature. As the charging system is bi-directional, the V2L function goes into the outside charging port. There is a second outlet underneath the back row seat to charge your smaller devices such as mobile phones or laptops.
With all the comfort, convenience, connectivity and unlimited charging for two years, it is safe to say that nothing in the market even comes close to the Ioniq 5.
According to Hyundai, the Ioniq 5 will initially be sold in the next half of 2021 in the 10 zero-emissions vehicle (ZEV) states plus Florida, Texas, Arizona, Illinois, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Pennsylvania. They are also offering alternative models to attract first time EV buyers. In the future, a subscription service will be offered to include an all-inclusive payment covering the vehicle, insurance and maintenance.
