Although the Hyundai H-1 still leads Thailand's 11-seater MPV January-June 2021 sales chart, the 2021 Kia Carnival is quickly catching up, as latest data posted by Headlight Magazine shows.
Hyundai sold 911 units of the H-1 in the five-month period. Although the numbers are still strong, sales dropped in May as the brand only sold 125 units of the H-1 then - the lowest in a month thus far this year.
Although it started rather slowly, the Carnival has been consistently outselling the H-1 every month since March 2021. Thus far, Kia has sold 881 units of the Carnival there.
January - May 2021 11-seater MPV sales in Thailand | |

Kia Carnival | 881 |
Toyota Majesty | 271 |
Ssangyong Rodius | 34 |

Although the Carnival is a much pricier product, customers' increased interest in the Kia can be attributed to it being a much newer model with better comfort and safety features within.

For context, the H-1 currently on sale there is a second-generation facelift, which traces its roots back to 2007.
However, the recently-introduced 2021 Hyundai Staria will be replacing it already. Time will tell whether it will further solidify Hyundai's standing in the 11-seater MPV arena.
