Itās a double dose of results from ASEAN NCAP with the organisation releasing the assessment scores of its second Hyundai model this week. While the Creta received the full 5-star rating, the Hyundai Stargazer only managed to get 4 stars.
The first Hyundai MPV to undergo the assessment under the ASEAN NCAP 2021-25 protocol, the Stargazer accumulated a score of 66.48 points out of 100 overall. The Stargazerās closest rival, the Mitsubishi Xpander scored higher with 70.96 points which gives it a 4-star rating.

However, the Xpander was tested with the older 2017-20 methodology. Compared with the Stargazerās other rivals that were assessed under the latest protocol, the Korean has the lowest score while the likes of the Toyota Veloz and Honda BR-V both scored 5 stars.

According to ASEAN NCAPās assessment, the test dummy showed there is a high possibility for the driver to sustain injuries to the chest and right leg in a real-world frontal impact collision. Still, the Stargazerās frontal occupant remained stable in the frontal offset test.
Standard passive safety features on the Stargazer across all variants include 2 airbags, ABS, and ISOFIX installation for child seats. ASEAN NCAP gave respectable scores for the Stargazer in the Safety Assist and Motorcyclist Safety assessments which grades the AEB and blind-spot monitors.
Both features are available as an option in most markets where the Stargazer is currently or soon to be available. According to the report, these include Brunei, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The Stargazer is likely to be imported from Indonesia to these markets as the archipelago is the production base for Hyundaiās B-segment 7-seater. Being a regional product, it is likely to also be imported into Malaysia.
