Inter-state travelled allowed for certain fully-vaccinated groups from 10-August onwards

From 10-August-2021 onwards, certain groups of fully-vaccinated Malaysians that have observed their 14 days inoculation period will be allowed to travel inter-state. 

The groups allowed to travel across state borders include long-distance couples as well as parents who have children (aged below 18) that are studying in different states.

Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin also announced that those who are fully inoculated will be allowed to pray in suraus and mosques. The relaxing of this rule extends to Non-Muslims to pray at their respective houses of worship.

All these individuals need to do is show their digital vaccination certificates upon entry to the premises.

Meanwhile, the government has decided that both Malaysians and Non-Malaysians residing in the country will only need to quarantine at home.

National Recovery Plan Phase 2

Fully-vaccinated individuals living in states that have moved on to Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) will soon be allowed to travel inter-district.

Muhyiddin announced that all these individuals need to do at roadblocks is to show their Covid-19 digital certificate to authorities as proof that they have also completed their inoculation period.

Meanwhile, dining-in will also be allowed for fully-vaccinated individuals for states that are in Phase 2.

But Muhyiddin advises the public to only dine in when necessary and not to spend too much time at eateries. This is due to the higher risk of one getting infected as patrons will have to remove their masks to eat.

The PM also advises eatery owners to provide more tables outside the premises as dining outdoors will ensure better ventilation.

Intra-state tourism will also be allowed from 10th August onwards for individuals who have completed their inoculation period. This means that individuals will be allowed to enjoy staycations in their local states at hotels and homestays.
