Traffic reportedly built up as early as 7 am, and drivers took up to half an hour just to pass the toll.

The problem stems from the toll's discontinuation of SmartTag lanes, having been replaced completely by RFID ones. It's not the only place, as there's reports that the same 'hostile takeover' has happened at the Senawang and Skudai toll plazas too.

The elimination of SmartTag lanes contradicts PLUS' earlier statements that Touch 'n Go and SmartTag lanes will stay on.

As expected, netizens are all up in arms about the whole thing, so much so that PLUS has shut off the comments section on their social media pages.
