Johor PDRM collects RM 1.38m worth of summonses during 3-day 50% discount programme 01

During a three-day programme that offered 50 percent discount for traffic compounds, the Johor police collected a whopping total of RM 1.38 million worth of summonses.

According to a report by Bernama, the amount involved 12,799 summonses. The Muar district recorded the highest payment at RM 192,020 while Batu Pahat follows at RM 170,880. Johor Bahru Selatan came in third highest with RM 141,370 collected.

Johor police chief Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat also told Bernama that the programme was also aimed to encourage Singaporeans to settle their summonses at all district traffic police stations.

During the programme, the police collected RM 5,300 from 26 summonses collected from Singaporeans.

Kamarul revealed that between 2018 to August 2022, the Johor police recorded 2.23 million traffic summonses with an estimated value of RM 340 million. Out of that number 109,758 summonses involved Singapore drivers.
