JPJ collected over RM 3 million worth of traffic summonses thanks to 70% discount campaign

Since the announcement of a special 70 percent discount on all traffic summonses 2 weeks ago, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has collected a total of RM 3.147 million.

The amount was collected from 45,317 summonses nationwide.

JPJ first introduced the 70 percent discount offer in conjunction with the department’s 75th platinum jubilee celebrations. The campaign runs for 2 months, from 13-April to 11-June.

The discount offer was given for all summonses issued for offences under the Road Transport Act 1987 (Act 333), the Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board Act (Act 334), the Land Public Transport Act (Act 715), including cases that are still blacklisted.

There’s still time to take advantage of the special offer! JPJ director-general Zailani Hashim reminds the public that the special discount is a rare opportunity and encourages more road users to settle the summonses during the period. The discount period will not be extended.
