JPJ is requesting road users to report fancy number plates they see on the road

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) recently uploaded another reminder on the illegal use of confusing, blurry, or fancy number plates on cars and the penalty that it entails. They are also encouraging road users who come across these number plates to make a report via email.

In the post, JPJ once again reminded car owners that the use of confusing, blurry, or fancy number plates is a violation of Section 14 (4) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Car owners who were found guilty of this offence will face a fine of at least RM 300 and not more than RM 3,000.

Other than that, JPJ also requested road users who come across a car with fancy number plates to make a report via email to aduantrafik@jpj.gov.my. The email must contain a photo of the car in question as well as the make, the model, and the colour.
