The Road and Transport Department (JPJ) in Kelantan launched the state’s first-ever drive-through JPJ counter in Panji, Kota Bharu to allow residents in the area easier access when renewing their driving licences.
JPJ started drive-through services with the sole purpose of easing the expected crowd coming into offices to renew their driving licences. Earlier this month, JPJ declared that they will no longer be extending the expired driving licence and road tax grace period beyond 30-September-2021.

Operation times start from 9 am and ends at 3 pm, drive-through counters are open from Sunday to Thursday. According to media reports, the counters will be in operation until 30-September-2021.
Kosmo also reports that the drive-through counter is a huge success in the state. On the first day of operations, the counter collected over RM 10,000 for services such as renewal of road tax, Malaysian driving licence, and vocational driving licences (GDL/ PSV).
JPJ expects to collect at least RM 300,000 by the end of September.
