Starting from 24-November-2021, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) will be conducting Operation Sedar to inspect cars on the road with expired car insurances.
Despite never giving a grace period for the renewal of car insurance during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period, JPJ has discovered that many road users have still opted not to renew their car insurance.
This has spurred JPJ to set up roadblocks for the exclusive purpose to inspect vehicles with expired insurances.
The renewal of car insurance is an important part of the car ownership process. JPJ highlighted that things might get complicated if the car owner comes across an accident as they don’t have valid insurance to cover the cost.
As we approach the end of the grace period (31-December-2021) for expired road tax and driving licences, JPJ is also reminding car owners to renew their road tax and driving licences before it is too late.
To help facilitate the renewal of road tax and driving licences, JPJ will be deploying its mobile units to allow road users to renew their road tax and driving licences immediately.
There isnât a time in memory that doesnât involve staring at cars. After discovering the excitement of watching Schumacher vs Hakkinen, Formula 1 became a major part of life. The love for cars and F1 ultimately led to a job with CAR Magazine. The untimely death of the magazine meant a hiatus from cars at lifestyle womenâs magazine Marie Claire before another opportunity came knocking again.
