Combined, the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max have complete dominance in Thailand’s pick-up truck sales for the first two months of 2023 with an 85% market share. Pick-up trucks are the rulers of vehicle sales in the Kingdom with 53,619 units sold in January and February 2023.
While the Isuzu D-Max remains the country’s best-selling pick-up, its closest rival, the Toyota Hilux is not too far behind in terms of sales for both months. In January 2023, 11,820 units of the D-Max were sold compared to 10,349 units of the Hilux.
However, the gap between the two hot-selling pick-up trucks started to grow closer in February with the D-Max only edging ahead of the Hilux by a mere 541 units or nearly the total number of Nissan Navara sold in Thailand in the first two months of the year.
The D-Max is still Thailand's best-selling truck but can it hold on this year?
Nothing seems to be stopping the sales of the D-Max and Hilux and in the Kingdom with 23,805 units and 21,793 units sold respectively in January and February 2023. Looks like Thailand’s pick-up sales will mainly be a battle between Isuzu and Toyota again this year, but could we see the Hilux snatching the title in 2023?
