Dinamikjaya Motors, the subsidiary of Bermaz Auto and official distributor of Kia vehicles in Malaysia hosted its first public preview of the Kia EV6 today at the Glenmarie Golf & Country Club. The preview is in conjunction with the PGM Kia Championship golf tournament.

The battery electric Kia SUV is a sister-car of Hyundai’s Ioniq 5, riding on the same E-GMP battery electric drive-only platform.

The display car is a right-hand drive model, so it’s likely to be very close to the forthcoming Malaysian market specifications model.

No further details are shared but a quick check at the VIN code suggests that this is a long range, 77.4 kWh battery capacity, AWD variant.

The display car is locked but peering through the windows, the seats appear to be lined in fine fabric. Note that the Kia EV6 does not come with conventional leather, only vegan leather or fabric.

Globally, the 77.4 kWh AWD variant is available in two states of tune – 585 PS and 325 PS. At this point, we are unable to verify which power output we will be getting, but based on the smaller front disc brakes on this display car, we think it's the lesser 325 PS variant, which does 0-100 km/h in 5.2 seconds, and offers a 506 km (WLTP) driving range.

Dinamikjaya Motors has previously told its shareholders that the Kia EV6 will be launched in Malaysia sometime between Q3 and Q4 this year.
