Launching in Thailand before us, Malaysia-bound Toyota bZ4X shown at Bangkok Motor Show

This is the Toyota bZ4X, and as much as its name is a mouthful to pronounce, there's much to be excited about. One: it's the company's first crack at a pure EV, and two, it's a model that could reach Malaysia as soon as next year.

But before it's launched here, it will make it to Thailand first. Our sister site, Autofun, reports that the EV SUV will make it there by end-2022. The first two pictures you see of it here are it on display at Toyota's stand at the ongoing Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS).
The first of Toyota's bZ (beyond Zero) series of vehicles, the bZ4X is Toyota's first EV built on a dedicated e-TNGA platform that's jointly developed with Subaru. Its twin is the Subaru Solterra.
Flat under its floor is a 71.4 kWh battery, that supports a maximum DC fast charging rate of up to 150 kW, allowing it to charge to 80% in just half an hour.
Globally, the bZ4x is offered with two variants: the front-wheel drive (FWD) variant makes 204 PS, while the all-wheel drive (AWD) variant has a combined output of 218 PS.
Driving range for the FWD variant is 500 km, and the AWD, 460 km, both according to the WLTP test cycle.
How much is it priced?
Prices are still yet to be announced in Thailand, with UK being the only market that's announced prices so far. Over there, the bZ4X's price tag ranges from £ 41,950 (~RM 232k) to £ 51,550 (~RM 286k).
This is a smidge cheaper than the Lexus UX300e, which ranges from £ 42,645 (~RM 236k) to £52,245 (~RM 291k). Besides the bZ4X, this is another model that's earmarked for Malaysia.
