Limited to 1,000 units, 2025 Proton X50 Sport Edition launched, from RM 105.8k

Previously previewed at the 2024 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS), Proton officially launched the 2025 Proton X50 Sport Edition via a livestream.
Limited to 1,000 units, the X50 Sport Edition is based on the X50 Premium variant and starts from RM 105,800. Proton is offering a RM 7,000 rebate for all bookings of the X50 range this month which sees the limited-run model going for RM 98,300.
The Sport Edition is the first limited series model for the X50 RC (Running Change) since its launch in July last year and comes with ten exclusive accessories.

Keeping up with its special title, the X50 Sport Edition features a bold new body kit with a front splitter, side skirts, and a rear roof spoiler. Unique to the Sport Edition is a new Quartz Black paint with red accents surrounding the lower half of the gloss black front grille and the aerokit surrounding the SUV.
Completing the limited-run B-SUV are 18-inch ten-spoke gloss black alloy wheels and a chrome “Sport Edition” badge on the tailgate.

Inside, the X50 Sport Edition receives a wireless charger located under the centre console, Sport Edition carpets, aluminium door scuff plates, and a boot tray.
Other than these sporty visual upgrades, the X50 Sport Edition shares the same powerplant as the Premium variant. Under the hood is a turbocharged 1.5-litre 3-cylinder MPI unit (150 PS/226 Nm) that is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, sending power to the front wheels.

As such, aside from the wireless charger and the visual upgrades, the Sport Edition offers the same features as the Premium variant. These include the upgraded 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment head unit, a power tailgate, a 360-degree camera, and 6 airbags.
That also meant the Sport Edition loses out on Level 2 ADAS which is only available on the top-of-the-line Flagship variant.
If the Sport Edition doesn’t interest you, these are the prices of the 2025 Proton X50 variants:
- 1.5T Standard – RM 86,300
- 1.5T Executive – RM 93,300
- 1.5T Premium – RM 101,800
- 1.5 TGDI Flagship – RM 113,300
