While the disruption last Friday was caused by a brake calliper hydraulic leakage on a train, this time the cause of the stalled train was due to an power failure.
According to its official social media channels, the Traction Power Sub Station (TPSS) at the Taman Jaya and University Station experienced an issue causing power supply to cut off and the train heading towards Putra Heights to stall.
Further investigations revealed that the electricity disruption was caused by a failed circuit breaker that happened at 8.36 am. Fortunately, staff were able to rectify the issue and the power supply returned to normal at 8.48 am.
According to a report by Free Malaysia Today (FMT), passengers in the train experienced a jolt causing some of them to fall. After checking with passengers on the train, Prasarana confirms that no one was hurt.
Photos of staff manually driving the train also surfaced online while announcements in affected stations informed passengers that all trains along the line were slowed, most probably to give way to the stalled train.
