The Honda BR-V has finally bowed out of Malaysia. Having made its Malaysian debut back in January 2017, the BR-V was on sale here for 6 years and 3 months.

After verifying a tip from a reader, we confirmed that the Honda BR-V is no longer listed on Honda Malaysia’s website.

When the 7-seater B-segment SUV was on sale here, it was priced between RM 90,700 to RM 97,700.

Back in March during a media event, Honda Malaysia’s Executive Coordinator Mr Yujiro Sugino, “Basically, we see more potential in the SUV segment below the Honda HR-V, and that is why we chose to bring in the WR-V. It’s mainly due to prioritisation and that’s why we decided to discontinue the BR-V.”

This also implies that Honda Malaysia won’t be introducing the second-generation BR-V here and will focus on the B-segment, 5-seater Honda WR-V instead.

If you’re in the market for a 7-seater MPV, your best option would be the Perodua Alza, which is priced between RM 62,500 to RM 75,500. Alternatively, there’s also the Toyota Veloz (RM 95,000) and Mitsubishi Xpander (RM 99,980).
