Man in sambung bayar Toyota Harrier goes berserk on a Perodua Kancil

In this time where emotion runs high due to lockdown, a viral video on social media shows a man caught hitting a road user with a steel pipe, yesterday evening at Pasir Mas, Kelantan. According to Berita Harian, the man ticked off when he got overtaken by a Perodua Kancil, then proceed to hit and forced it off the road and into the ditch.

Based on the investigation by the police, the victim did overtake the Toyota Harrier as the suspect was driving way too slow and in an absurd manner, waving to the left and right. As soon as he overtook the suspect, he got enraged and closely tailgate the victim’s Kancil till he pushes him off the road.

The suspect then barged in and hit the victim with a steel pipe, causing a 3 centimeter (cm) injury on his head, as well as a few bumps and bruises on his arm. The victim then went out to get treatment as a nearby hospital as an outpatient and was discharged on the same day.

Further investigation by the police reveals that the suspect had three past criminal record to his name. On top of that, the Toyota Harrier driven by the suspect is registered under a woman’s owner in Bangi. It was then revealed that the Harrier is on a ‘sambung bayar’ term, which is a practice of pawning a vehicle on hire purchase.

The police are still on the hunt for the suspect for further action, and the case is investigated under the Penal Code 279 and Section 324 for rash driving on public and voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means.
