Maserati MC20 supercar unveiled - 3.0L V6 twin-turbo, 630 PS/730 Nm

The last supercar from Maserati was the MC12, introduced in 2004. Since then, Maserati hasn’t been making supercars. Until now, with the introduction of the Maserati MC20.

MC stands for Maserati Corse and 20 for 2020, the year of its premiere. It features 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 engine that makes 630 PS (exactly the same as the MC12) and 730 Nm of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The MC20 weighs just 1,500 kg, allowing a 0-100 km/h sprint time of under 2.9 seconds and top speed of over 325 km/h.

Aerodynamics were designed through over two thousand man-hours in the Dallara Wind Tunnel and more than a thousand CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations.

The resulting car has a sleek line with just a discreet rear spoiler that improves downforce without adding fuss to the design.

The MC20 is designed to enable coupe and convertible versions and more interestingly, for full electric power.

Inside, it is said to be driver-oriented with simple forms, very few sharp edges and minimal distractions.

Features include a wireless charger, driving mode selector, two speed selection buttons, the power window controls, the Multimedia System controls, and a handy storage compartment underneath the armrest.

The full range of services on the Maserati Connect program includes connected navigation, Alexa and Wifi Hotspot and can also be managed through the Maserati Connect smartphone or smartwatch App.

Production of the Maserati MC20 is scheduled to begin at the end of this year.
