![MCO 2.0: Permitted businesses allowed to operate until 10pm 01]()
Starting from Friday (29/1/2021), all businesses permitted to operate during the Movement Control Order (MCO) will be allowed to open until 10 pm. This means that grocery shops like Tesco and Aeon Big, convenient stores, pharmacies, optical shops, and laundry services will be allowed to stay open later.
Previously, only restaurants and eateries were allowed to extend operation hours to 10 pm, Malaysians in states observing MCO will still have to do their grocery shopping before 8 pm.
According to Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the decision was made following a risk evaluation by the Health Ministry.
