Up to 669 km range, second longest EV range in Malaysia after the EQS 450+
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has launched its second model series to be based on the electric architecture (EVA), the Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+. Priced at RM 419,888 (OTR without insurance), the EQE is said to similar to offer all the essential functions of the EQS in a slightly more compact format.
The Mercedes-Benz EQE is imported (CBU) from the Bremen plant in Germany. As a battery EV (BEV), import and excise duties as well as road tax have been exempted - valid until 31-December 2023 for imported BEVs.
The Budget 2023 proposed for a 1 year extension but Parliament was dissolved days after tabling of the Budget, so it has yet to be passed.
The EQE 350+ is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor (RWD) that makes 292 PS/565 Nm, getting the EQE 350+ from 0-100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, and tops out at 210 km/h.
It has a 90.56 kWh (usable) battery that gives a WLTP range of up to 669 km. The onboard charger allows up to 11 kW AC charging while maximum DC charging is rated at 170 kW, which takes 32 minutes to get from 10 to 80 percent charge. A charging cable will be given for wall box or public charging stations, measuring at five meters.
Unlike the EQS 450+, the EQE 350+ misses out on the rear-axle steering and Airmatic suspension. It gets a more conventional Comfort suspension instead with four-link setup at the front and multilink at the rear.
As for exterior, the Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ wears the AMG line exterior and body styling, featuring 19-inch AMG five twin-spoke light-alloy wheels. It gets Digital Light with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus.
Inside, the EQE 350+ also misses on MBUX Hyperscreen thatβs in the EQS. Instead, it gets a separated driver display and OLED central portrait display with fingerprint scanner.
It includes the MBUX augmented reality for navigation, Pre-installation for Remote and Navigation Services, Smartphone Integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and head-up display.
It gets Sports Seats with Artico man-made leather upholstery and Microcut microfibre, AMG floor mats, roof liner in black fabric, steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather, centre console in black fine-structure look, and laser-cut backlit trim with Mercedes-Benz pattern.
Features wise, the EQE 350+ gets 64-colour active ambient lighting, wireless charging system for mobile devices, and 4-zone automatic climate control, and Burmester 3D surround sound system.
The Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ comes with the Driving Assistance Plus Package that includes:
Active Distance Assist Distronic
Active Lane Keeping Assist
Active Steering Assist
Extended automatic re-start in traffic jams
Evasive manoeuvre support
Pre-Safe impulse side
Rear sensors for the lane departure assistant
It also features the Parking Package with 360-degree camera and Active Parking Assist.
The Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ comes with the standard 4-year warranty, while the high-voltage battery has a 10-year/250,000km warranty, whichever comes first. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia said that deliveries for the EQE will commence this week.
The quest for automotive knowledge began as soon as the earliest memories. Various sources information, even questionable ones, have been explored including video games, television, magazines, or even internet forums. Still stuck in that rabbit hole.
