Amidst the hullaballoo surrounding the twin 1,000 Nm monsters launched earlier today, it seems that Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has opened registration of interest (ROI) for yet one more electric vehicle, the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV.

Analoguous to a GLE, the EQE SUV is the missing link in MBM's EV line-up here in Malaysia: we already have the EQA, EQB, and EQC prior.

Specs and price of EQE SUV in Malaysia

Confirmed specifications nor pricing are not released yet at point of publication, but know that the EQE SUV is poised to take on the BMW iX – a briskly-selling competitor that has clocked over 1,000 deliveries made last year.  

Globally, there's five variants of the EQE SUV: EQE 350+, EQE 350 4Matic, and the EQE 500 4 Matic. There's also the hotted-up AMG-EQE 43 4Matic, and EQE 53 4Matic+.

At its base EQE 350+ variant, it has 292 PS/565 from a rear-mounted electric motor; the all-wheel drive variants goes up to 292 PS/765 Nm on the EQE 350 4Matic, while the top-spec EQE 500 4Matic gets 408 PS/858 Nm.

 All EQE variants get a 90.6-kWh battery pack with a maximum WLTP range of up to 590 km (EQE 350+).

Charging wise, the EQE SUV accepts up to 11 kW AC charging as standard (22 kW optional), with 170 kW DC fast charging that's said to be able to return 220 km range (WLTP) in just 15 minutes' charging.

The EQE SUV measures 4,863 mm long, 1,940 mm wide, 1,686 mm tall, with a wheelbase spanning 3,030 mm. It’s slightly shorter than the BMW iX in terms of overall length (4,953 mm), but has a longer wheelbase compared to the iX at 2,997 mm.

Standard safety equipment of the EQE SUV includes Active Brake Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Parking Package with reversing camera and Speed Limit Assist.
